New Rose: Tamango
September 6, 2008
News PictureIntroducing the newest rose from Peterkort Roses: Tamango. This rose is actually a classic, dark red spray rose that has been on the market for several years, but we had never grown it. Our customers like Red Angel, our bright red spray, but were always asking for another darker tone.

One day Norm got a call from our cousin Katy of Oregon Roses, who had a lot of Tamango plants, and couldn't use them because they are no longer growing roses. So thanks to Katy we now have this rose.

It is one of the larger headed roses, with quite a round head like Moonstruck, but not the jagged edges. The Tamango rose was developed by the French hybridizer Meilland, who is famous for their Peace rose. They also created other roses we grow such as Leonidas, Sonia, Yves Piaget and Helga Piaget.

To order this rose, please call Peterkort Roses at (503) 628-1005, wholesale buyers only please.
